Decree of Minister of Interior No. 9/2024: reference amount is EUR 40 per each day of planned stay. Hungary denominates this figure in EUR even though the national currency is the forint (HUF).
Consulates apply discretion and may expect a buffer above this figure — treat it as a floor, not a guarantee.

- Third-country nationals resident in Ireland (non-EU/EEA citizens)Must hold a valid Irish Residence Permit (IRP) valid more than 1 month beyond the intended return date; you may only apply in Ireland if you legally reside there.
- Minors under 18Birth certificate, and notarised parental consent/authorisation from non-travelling parent(s) plus copies of parents' passports; if travelling alone, consent from both parents/legal guardians.
- Visa-exempt nationals (e.g. holders of certain passports that do not require a Schengen short-stay visa)Do not need a Type C visa for stays up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
