Long-stay (Type D) national visas are a Luxembourg national competence. A temporary authorisation to stay must first be obtained from the Luxembourg Immigration Directorate (Directorate of Immigration, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs). The D-visa is then affixed by a Luxembourg mission / the Belgian mission representing Luxembourg for residents of Ireland; confirm the exact lodging point with the Immigration Directorate.
